We have some long awaited design changes and new features for you.

Since many people are complaining about loli and shota content we also have updated our terms.

Loli and shota is not allowed.

This leads from some country’s law that defiantly restrict this kind of content. (and we think this is for a reason)

Have fun exploring our new design changes and functions, we hope you will enjoy them as much as we do. Still if you have any complains, let us know trough our feedback page.

We also have some more stuff that we are working on atm so expect more changes soon.

And as a little shout out, we are working hard on our IOS and Android apps and we are excited to show you some early screenshots soon =)

Picarto.TV - Bug fixes and new features

At first we would like to clarify the uses of the new feature “game mode” that was introduced in the recent core update. Game mode does not mean that we allow game focused streams on picarto. its porpuse is to give people the opportunity to have a small break from an art piece by playing a game or two since some member have requested this for a long time now.

Streams in game mode will not be displayed on the main page while its active, and the streamer will get notified if they play for a prolonged period of time. We allow up to 1 hour of gaming per stream session. Your streams main focus has to be about art creation or you might get banned from our service. (we have updated our terms to make this more clear)

For the second part, Here are some of our latest changes based on user feedback.

  • White page style
    • Some of you are not into our new dark layout. Now we have implemented a switch to change to a lighter style. (If you have feedback on how to improve it color wise let us know)
    • Please keep in mind that we are a bit limited on how the white style looks. We still try our best to serve everyone.
  • Player pause screen
    • If you pause the player you will now get a new pause screen to better indicate the state of the player.
  • Forgot password improved / simplified
    • The process on how to get a new password is much easier now.
  • Next stream thumbnail size
    • The size of the thumbnail for next streamer when a channel goes offline has been fixed.
  • Multi / Duo indicator on main page stream thumbnails
    • We have added an indicator for multi/duo streams to show who is involved in an multi/duo stream.
    • It also serves as a bug fix for showing streamers on the main page without the host being online.
    • This might get changed back to the old layout after we have figured a fix for this behavior.
  • ID fix on index
    • Some ID elements on the index were duplicated. This has been fixed now.
  • Remove message on second messages
    • You are now able to remove any additional message after the first one.
  • /Me messages now removable
    • yep, they were bugged, sorry about that =]
  • Social link fixed
    • We have fixed a problem caused by copy & paste links into the social placeholder making the link unable to being saved.
  • Default chat color
    • The default chat color has been adjusted to work better with the new page design.
  • Simple chat
    • You can now change your chat to the old simple mode on your chat settings.

As always please refresh your channel page and settings page by using Ctrl + F5 to perform a hard refresh.

Picarto.TV - Feature Preview

New Multistream

Today we wan’t to announce that we are already working on the new multistream / duostream pages. What we came up with is a dynamic page that will change its layout on the fly after a participant will join the multistream / duostream and will be online. After he is online the page will switch its layout automatically and you will be able to see two streams.

We’ve added some screenshots for you to take a look of the new design we came up with. (still work in progress!)

Let us know in the comments what you think and how to improve this to your needs! (and i may get you a little hint … the only thing i will say is: #4)

Picarto.TV - Chatupdate

Dear follower,

we want to tell you that we will do another final test of our new Chat v7 on this saturday! We can not tell you the time since we will do a lot of stuff in the background. You will be notified by a global chat message so seek for that big blue message that will appear ;)

Hopefully our tests will be positive so we can try to plan the complete implementation of the new chat system on every page.

AND to clarify some things, YES multistream will get popout chat! YES every stream will get popout chat! SO HOORAY FOR BOOBIES!

Since we put so much work into this new and very fency chatsystem, we will release Poll and Raffle only to premium users! So if you planing to use these you should get your premium account in time to show your love into this project and to make your life much easier since you don’t need these extra tabs open on your browser ;)

Picarto.TV - New core page update

We are happy to announce that we have successfully released our new core page design. Core page design means that we have created a new base fundamental to be able to update our service more frequently and to develop even faster, more secure and with more stability. This needs to be done to bring you the best user experience on Picarto you’ve ever had.

We have collected a lot of suggestions from our users, fans and even our rivals to improve Picarto even further. Every part of our decisions were made in relation to these feedbacks. Thats why we want to thank you for all your love and passion you put in to Picarto.TV.

There are also a lot of fixes being made after the release. So please keep that in mind if you are reporting any issues.

Since we have changed so much have we updated our terms and conditions and our privacy policy. Please read it carefully. Upon continuing on using our service from here on forward, you declare that you still agree to them.

On this part of the post we would like to introduce you to all the changes we have done.

  • ### Stay logged in
    • We have added a new “stay logged in” function that will create a cookie to keep your session while you are closing your browser
  • ### Friendly URLs
    • We changed all URLs to be more readable and user friendly. Your channel page link will now be showing as: picarto.tv/channelname.
  • ### Markdown channel descriptions
    • We have migrated all channel descriptions but some of them may be broken now because of ‘Markdown’. Please backup your channels description to avoid any unwanted changes.
    • To bring you more customization ability’s we have added a new Markdown-Editor to edit your channel description or commission information.
    • We also added a tutorial to introduce you to 'Markdown’ and some of its features.
  • ### Responsive page design
    • While many users argued about our old, stiff page design we have now tried to minimize any reloads of the page.
  • ### Commission mode & informations
    • A lot of our artists wanted to be able to show their viewers if they are open to accept commissions or not. Thats why we have added a new commission mode where you can display if you are open to accept them. The commissions information and price category will be showing in a separate window next to your channel description in order to help keeping your channels description orginised.
  • ### Temporary gaming mode
    • Since some of you artists like to play a game in between commissions and art work to take a little break and relax, we have now added a temporary gaming mode to show your viewers that you are taking a short break. If you are enabling gaming mode you will not get listed on the front page anymore but still be visible on the search and be accessible.
  • ### Languages
    • Many artists come from different places from all around the world. To show where you are from and what language you are supporting on your channel we have added the option to show your two main languages on your channel and on the front page.
  • ### New image upload
    • To make things even more easier we have added a new image upload function.
      • Avatars can now be zoomed, scaled and rotated before you are saving them.
  • ### Socials
    • We are now providing the ability to link all your socials on your channel page. We got a bunch of well known socials and art related websites already implemented.
  • ### Generate new stream-keys
    • Some of you got problems related to their stream-key. Thats why we have added a new generator to let you change your stream-key without contacting our support. You are still be able to use your old stream-key as long as didn’t generate a new one.
  • ### New category’s
    • We have already added some new category such as “Pony”, “Sculpture” and “Traditional art”. You can still suggest new ones for future updates.
  • ### New E-Mail notification system
    • Some of you got problems with delayed on-line notifications and we tried to bring you a better working solution now.
    • Our new E-Mail notification system should be more responsive and should send mails much faster.
    • We updated our E-Mail designs too
  • ### Tags
    • If you would like to make your channel more easy to find through our new search system, you can do so by adding tags relevant to your channels content.
  • ### Permanent off-line image
    • Premium users off-line images will now be displayed permanently. We have moved the recording to a separate window.
  • ### Dashboard
    • We have completely changed our dashboard. The old dashboard is now your settings page and our new dashboard is more like a console to watch while you are streaming.
    • You are able to change your category, description, commission info, channel modes ,keep track of your stream and more importantly the chat of your channel.
  • ### More custom chat emoticons for basic and premium members
    • Premium users are now able to upload up to 10 custom chat emoticons. Basic will have 5 now. Subscribers are still able to use the custom emoticons of the streamer.
  • ### NSFW (Not Safe For Work) warning on adult content
    • We now display a new notification that you are about to see NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content if you are entering a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) related or flagged channel.
  • ### Multistream invite notification
    • You now get a new notification icon next to your avatar when you receive a multistream invitation.
  • ### Group chats on Multi-/ Duo-Streams
    • Chats will now be grouped so that you can join every participants channel and see the same chat.
  • ### Dynamic Multi- / Duo-Streams
    • Multi- and Duo-Streams are a very important part for us so we put in a lot of effort to make this feature more dynamic and more enjoyable.
    • You can now visit the channel page of a participant to make him appear on top of the other streams.
    • You are able to expand the top stream and remove the bottom ones if you’d like to focus on a single stream.
  • ### Show subscriber count
    • You are now able to show your subscriber count on your channel page. This is optional.
  • ### Video Manager
    • We have added a video manager to view and download your last recording.
    • Plans are to record more videos in the future and to be able to manage them later on.
    • We have put your last recording to your channel page. You can now find a new video button next to your channel description.
  • ### New live counter display
    • People can now see for how long you are streaming, by looking at a counter under your stream.
  • ### New raffle system
    • Our raffle system has been improved greatly. It is much more random now and will display you a new animation to make it even more exciting.
  • ### Send feedback
    • To separate bug reports and feedback we have added a new feedback option to make it more clear of what you would like to tell us.
  • ### We have a new price policy now
    • Premium will now be $ 14.99 and Basic will go by $2.99.
      • This needs to be done because we had to create a new company in Germany to be able to grow in the future and provide more improvements. Since we are a German company now we have to pay for taxes and some more bills because of German laws. These points are some of the reasons why we have to raise the price of all our products. We still try to keep the lowest price as possible while still being able to develop more features and provide more server capacity.
      • Current active premium and basic users will earn any new features we are releasing in the future but still keep their old price. (for as long as you are not canceling your subscription)

Picarto.TV - Bug fix and feedback post

Our core page release was a great success! We would like to thank everyone for sending us positive and negative feedback to enhance your experience even more. We try to form Picarto based on your feedback, and as a result we have changed and improved numerous things since the release! Some of the latest changes are:

  • ### Private streams
    • Private streams no longer stop playing soon after they start.
  • ### Chat sound
    • Chat notification sound has been fixed.
  • ### Drawing tool update
    • Adobe Illustrator has been added to drawing tools.
  • ### Info tooltip for Avatars
    • Added info tooltip for requirements of avatar images.
  • ### Chat UI changed
    • Chat bubbles and font size are smaller now.
    • Removed Streamer and Mod text color and bold format.
    • Avatar hover glow effect added.
  • ### Pop out windows
    • Pop out Chat and other pop outs are now open a new window rather then a new tab.
  • ### Chat scroll fixed
    • The chat scroll should now be more responsive and intuitive.
  • ### Adult warning
    • Adult warning image is smaller now to serve 800x600 resolutions.
  • ### New mailer system
    • New mailer has been tested and is working great so far.
    • Mails get sent out within 15 minutes after streamer comes online.
    • If you restart your stream within 2 hours you will not send out new mails. (Our mailer only sends new mails 2 hours after you last came online)
  • ### Channel design more responsive
    • On single stream pages with less then 800px width, the chat will now move under the stream so you are able to chat and see the stream at the same time, even at a smaller size.
    • Multi- / Duo-streams will follow soon! (still in testing)
  • ### Missing thumbnail
    • We have added a thumbnail for missing video thumbs. Broken image links will no longer be displayed.
  • ### Linux + Firefox + Flash
    • We are sorry to announce that the new Firefox for Linux does not properly supporting JWPlayer with flash at the latest versions. This is a limitation of the standard Adobe Flash plugin and JWPlayer.
    • To bring back working streams, we are already working on alternatives like HLS and MPEG-DASH for these people. We are still at early stages so this will not get released any time soon.
    • Google Chrome (not Chromium) can still display streams just fine on linux using the built-in flash player plugin. Make sure to get it from http://chrome.google.com/ to get the correct version for your OS!
  • ### Payment details
    • We have added a new payment details page for streamers offering subscriptions.
    • You will have to completely fill your payment details to get payed next month!
    • We are not able to pay provisions of subscriptions to streamers who have not completely filled out their payment details.
  • ### Markdown
    • We have added new information about changing colors for those who want to use colored text on our new markdown channel description, commission info or multi-stream description.
  • ### Front page player
    • You are now able to stop the playback of the player on our front page by clicking on it.
  • ### Emoticon code
    • With our new core chat update we have changed the code to use custom emoticons.
    • Use :c1-10: or :custom1-10: to use your custom emoticons.
    • Your subscriber can use your emoticons by using :sc1: or :scustom1:.

We are very sorry if we had disturbed your streaming schedule with the release of our core update. We will keep that in mind for the next big updates so you should be able to schedule your streams better next time.

We are back with some little informations about our rework progress. So wer are now able to implement and migrate our old database to the new system! (one of the biggest steps) We tried some different ways to implement the channel backgroudn again (we told you we would remove it on an older post) and we think that we found a way to let you have your uniqe background but still work with the new channel design. So we will post some work in progress pictures later in development.We are working hard on the index / explore page that have been merged now so we got some big steps here too. So every aspect of the page is much more clear now and we try to explain as much as we can to make your experiance even simpler so you can spend more time with the good part, the streams.Thank you for your time and stay tuned for some more updates in the near future!

Picarto.TV - Chat update

Dear brushes,

we have made some changes on our chat system. Specially the simple chat whispers.

You should now be able to distinguish better between your incoming and outgoing whispers.

The design of the chat bubbles for whispers has been changed too so it is not waisting more space as needed.

We are testing some stuff behind the scenes to bring you a even better performance and more stable system in the near future.

So make sure you are following us if you arn’t already.
